Belleville man gets 12 years in child porn case

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A southwestern Illinois man has been ordered to spend a dozen years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child pornography.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 25-year-old Bryan Sims of Belleville also was sentenced to 15 years of post-prison supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

Sims pleaded guilty in January to two felony counts.

Authorities say that a police search of Sims' home in 2010 yielded a computer they say had a hard drive containing 44 digital videos he had downloaded from the Internet. Investigators say some of those videos included images of prepubescent boys and girls subjected to bondage and sadistic activity.
