Missing Fox Lake person found in traffic stop

A female reported missing from the Fox Lake area was found Saturday during a traffic stop in Gurnee that also turned up crack cocaine and a loaded gun.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies stopped a 1998 Isuzu in Gurnee shortly after 10 p.m.

The 48-year-old driver, Samuel R. Alcock, was charged with driving while his license was suspended and driving without insurance, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Inside the vehicle was a female who had been reported as missing and possibly endangered from the Fox Lake area. Her age and how long she was missing were not reported in the release.

Deputies also spotted a loaded handgun on the floor near front-seat passenger Gordon L. Johnson, a 44-year-old North Chicago man on parole for homicide.

Johnson was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having crack cocaine, police said.

As of Sunday, he was being held in lieu of $40,000 bond.
