One hurt in crash north of Johnsburg

A 19-year-old male was taken to the hospital with a head injury after he was involved in a car accident Sunday at the intersection of South Solon Road and Ringwood Road north of Johnsburg.

His small, red car was T-boned about 1:25 p.m. by a Chevrolet Suburban going west on Ringwood Road, said Mike Majercik, McHenry Township Fire Protection District battalion chief.

Majercik did not release the names of the people involved in the crash. Traffic at the intersection was shut down for about 20 minutes, he said.

The 19-year-old suffered a concussion, Majercik said. He was in fair condition when taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry. There were no other injuries.

Ringwood Road does not have stop signs at the intersection, but South Solon Road does, Majercik said.
