Antioch grad Fortney encouraged after camp
LAKE FOREST – At the end of his three-day tryout at the Bears’ rookie minicamp, Brad Fortney met with special teams coach Dave Toub to learn his fate.
“He goes, ‘Brad, you had a great camp,’ ” Fortney said Monday from his home in Antioch. “He said, ‘Unfortunately, we’re not going to sign a snapper.’ ”
Some players might have stopped listening at that point.
