CRYSTAL LAKE – Readers are hungry for bondage – or, more likely, just fantastical escape from reality.
The popular erotic trilogy “Fifty Shades of Grey” is nearly impossible to find on the shelves of libraries in McHenry County. Even local bookstores are having trouble keeping the series in stock.
The racy novels haven’t been banned here, as they have been at some libraries throughout the country. But print copies are hard to borrow because of long wait lists at every public library in McHenry County.
