Boomer Beat: Area businessman pursues his passions
I am remembering a scene from the 1979 movie “Breaking Away.”
A teenage boy is ecstatically peddling through his middle class neighborhood in Bloomington, Ind., on a racing bike, singing opera in Italian at the top of his lungs.
I change a few details in the picture. The bike rider has aged more than a few decades. He is peddling an electric bike. And he is joyfully singing a cabaret song in French.
