Island Lake summer camps to begin

ISLAND LAKE – The Island Lake Parks and Recreation Department full-time summer camp for ages kindergarten through eighth grade begins May 29.

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and early and late times are available.

Activities include special theme days, such as “My Camp’s Got Talent” and “Candy Casino,” and field trips to local water parks, Donley’s Wild West Town, the Chocolate Factory and more. 

The staff has been with the program for the past five years.

Other part-time camps also will be offered. Little Scampers is for 3- to 5-year-olds, and Camp Greenleaf is for 6- to 9-year-olds.

Kindergarten Kapers is for 4- and 5-year-olds and is taught by Creative Playtime Preschool teachers, where children will review curriculum skills for the fall.
