Police: Injured Cary teen fell off bike
A Cary teenager found bloodied and battered on the street Friday reportedly lost control of his bicycle and fell, according to the Cary Police Department.
Authorities responded to the area of Bristol Way and Montana Drive around 7 p.m. for a report of a juvenile stumbling on the sidewalk and bleeding from his face.
Officers arrived to find a passerby trying to aid the juvenile, who was reportedly bleeding from the left side of his head and mouth, police said in a news release. He was later transported by helicopter to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in fair condition.
Investigators said they believe the juvenile may have been attempting to catch up to two juveniles reportedly on bicycle in the area when he somehow lost control and landed in a nearby yard.
The injured teen was awake and alert Tuesday, police said, but he does not remember what happened.
