Boy dies after rescue from suburban Chicago lake

MONTGOMERY (AP) – Authorities say a 9-year-boy has died after rescue divers pulled him from a suburban lake.

The Sugar Grove Fire Protection District says rescue divers responded to a report of a missing boy. He was last seen in the water at Jericho Lake in Montgomery around 6 p.m. Sunday.

He was found 25 feet from the shore and submerged in 12 feet of water.

The boy was pronounced dead at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora.
