Carlson's return from injury strengthens Marengo
Taylor Carlson has some pretty good memories at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria.
Last year as a freshman catcher, Carlson hit the game-winning sacrifice fly in the Class 3A state softball title game, scoring then-junior Larissa Pfeiffer from third base to give Marengo a 1-0 win over LaSalle-Peru and the school's first team state championship.
Now Carlson and Marengo are heading back to East Peoria after a 2-1 victory over Grayslake North in the Northern Illinois University Supersectional on Tuesday.
