Reading is delicious

To the Editor:

The Algonquin Area Public Library wishes to thank six local business donors for kicking off our 2012 Summer Reading Program by participating in our first “Mini-Taste of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.” This event was a great success because of their generous donations of staff time and delicious food samples enjoyed by more than 300 appreciative readers.

In addition, a Dollar General Literacy Foundation Summer Reading Grant provided funding to hire 10 teen interns to assist with youth and teen summer reading preparation, registration and prize distribution, and assist with Mini-Taste attendees!
