Fate of old sheriff's garage awaits report
WOODSTOCK – City officials again are considering demolishing the former sheriff’s garage at the Old Courthouse.
The city filed a certificate of appropriateness with the Historic Preservation Commission to raze the garage, but later withdrew the petition.
Commission members were on the fence about tearing down the garage. Some called the structure a safety concern; others said they were concerned about “piecemealing” the historic site.
