Police: Belleville officer shoots, kills man
BELLEVILLE (AP) – Authorities in Belleville say a 19-year-old St. Louis man was shot and killed during a confrontation with police.
Investigators tell the Belleville News-Democrat the victim was shot once in the chest Wednesday and died at a hospital. His name was not released.
Illinois State Police say officers responding to a disturbance at a tavern found two men kicking cars and trying to damage a window.
