HUNTLEY – Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church will donate a portion of the earnings from its first garage sale this weekend to an ongoing volunteer project that has slowly caught on throughout much of the Huntley community.

The church’s sale starts today and ends Saturday afternoon. Volunteers have spent the week pricing donations and preparing the church for the two-day sale at 10805 Main St.

As a community-minded church, members wanted to make sure that 10 percent of sale’s proceeds go to the Green Trees Apartment complex for low-income and developmentally disabled seniors that volunteers have spent nearly a year beautifying.
