DUI fatality trial expected to end Monday

WOODSTOCK – Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday in the trial of a man accused of being drunk when he struck a pedestrian who died about three weeks later.

Daniel Bending, 49, of Marengo, is charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in the incident April 18, 2008.

The defense began its case Friday with Dr. Larry Blum, a pathologist who reviewed medical records of the victim, 77-year-old Leonard Anderson. He did not perform the autopsy.
