HAMPSHIRE – A 58-year-old man died Thursday in a rollover crash in rural Hampshire, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

A 1989 Ford Mustang was traveling north on Walker Road between Route 72 and Allen Road about 9 p.m. when the driver lost control of the car and struck a concrete encasement on the west side of the road, according to a news release. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest in a field.

Thomas E. Kopitke of Hampshire was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the car.
