Nonprofit organizations in McHenry County are invited to apply for the $100,000 Humana Communities Benefit-Chicago charitable grant, sponsored by health care company Humana Inc.

The Humana Communities Benefit program awards a one-time, $100,000 grant to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the greater Chicago area that is focused on improving health experiences or building healthy communities.

The 2012 grant will celebrate a decade of donations and mark more than $1 million provided to local nonprofit organizations.
