Metra confirms fatality near Woodstock station
WOODSTOCK – Metra officials confirmed there was a fatality along the Union Pacific Northwest Line Saturday morning as it was heading to the Woodstock train station.
The identity of the deceased and the circumstances of the fatality, whether it was by suicide, has yet to be released by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, which is handling the investigation.
The fatal incident occurred at 6:55 a.m., said Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile. Train number 702 was scheduled to arrive Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago at 8:23 a.m.
