Pedestrian fatality at Metra crossing
BARRINGTON - An inbound Metra train killed a pedestrian at the Route 14 and Cuba Road crossing this morning, Metra officials confirmed.
Train No. 714 was due to arrive at the Barrington station at 11:18 a.m. Sunday. The fatality occured sometime after it departed from the Fox River Grove station.
The deceased male has yet to be identified. Details on whether the incident was due to suicide are pending as the Lake County Sheriff's Department, which took the call at 11:20 a.m., continues to investigate.
