Sox sign 1st-round selection Hawkins
There may not be any standing backflips or “Call Me Maybe” parody videos in Courtney Hawkins’ future, but the White Sox’s first-round draft pick is eager to start his baseball career soon.
The Sox announced the signing of Hawkins, the 13th overall selection in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, to a minor-league contract before Monday’s game against the Cubs.
The Sox have signed each of their 11 draft picks from the first 10 rounds of the draft.
