CRYSTAL LAKE – Crystal Lake resident and local architect Mark Elmore has been named the 2012 grand marshal of the Crystal Lake Independence Day Parade.

The parade steps off at 1 p.m. July 1 at City Hall, proceeds 1.8 miles down Dole Avenue and ends at the Lakeside Festival grounds.

“Mark has volunteered countless hours, generously donating his time and talents to several architectural projects within the Crystal Lake community,” said Gary Reece, president of the Crystal Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, in announcing Elmore as the grand marshal.
