D-200 nixes health center bids
WOODSTOCK – After months with no word on a state grant, District 200 opted to reject the $5 million in bids it sought for an addition to Verda Dierzen Early Learning Center.
In January, the district advertised for the bids and applied for a state capital development grant. The district had hoped to build a health center at the school for District 200 children, whether or not they have insurance. It further hoped to outsource management of the clinic to a third party health care agency.
But 120 days came and went since the bids were advertised, so District 200 school board members voted Tuesday night to reject them.
