Judge offers his 2 cents’ worth in spat over Seipler legal bills

WOODSTOCK – An attorney for McHenry County will take a judge’s “suggestion” to the County Board in an effort to force sheriff’s deputy Zane Seipler to pay legal bills.

On behalf of the county, attorney Bill Caldwell filed a motion for sanctions, asking that Seipler pay the county’s bills after Seipler requested a special prosecutor to investigate Sheriff Keith Nygren.

In April, Judge Thomas A. Meyer denied the special prosecutor request. On Tuesday, Caldwell and Seipler’s attorney met with the judge.
