Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

CHICAGO – After a rough outing last night against the Cubs, the White Sox optioned right-hander Zach Stewart to Triple-A Charlotte.

Right-hander Dylan Axelrod was recalled and becomes the long reliever in a taxed Sox bullpen.

The Sox turn to Jake Peavy (6-2, 2.91 ERA) in hopes of turning around the South siders' fortunes. They've lost five of their last six games and nine of 13 entering tonight's game. But despite their 4-9 stretch the Sox have lost only two games off their division lead. In his career against the Cubs, Peavy is 7-2 with a 2.39 ERA.

Left-hander Travis Wood (0-3, 4.58) starts for the Cubs. Wood has allowed three runs or fewer in five of his six starts this season.
