Body of missing man
 pulled from Gages Lake

WAUKEGAN – The body of a man reported missing Monday was found Tuesday afternoon in Gages Lake, near Grayslake.

Divers used sonar to detect and recover the body of 44-year-old Richard Stoneking of Warren Township from the lake.

A friend of Stoneking’s told investigators the two were on a pontoon boat Monday on Gages Lake and decided to go swimming. While they were in the water, the boat drifted from their location and both began swimming toward shore, the man told officials. He said that after reaching shore, he couldn’t find Stoneking.
