'Grandiose plans' for Sage YMCA

CRYSTAL LAKE – For the first time since it went bankrupt more than a year ago, Sage YMCA has a permanent leader in place.

Sean Nelson, who had been serving as executive director of the Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich, will now take over the same position in Crystal Lake.

“I’m looking to get to the Y and be a part of its growth and bring it to the next level,” said Nelson, 46. “It’s, for a lot of people, kind of a secret in the community as far as the things we can do. ... There’s nowhere to go but up.”
