Embezzler receives 4 years, then faints
WOODSTOCK – A Cary woman fainted and was taken out of a courtroom on a stretcher Thursday after being sentenced to four years in prison.
Clarissa M. Schauer, 40, pleaded guilty in March to theft over $100,000, a Class 1 felony, for stealing about $185,000 from her employer, Worldtrans International.
She had faced from four to 15 years in prison, but also could have received probation.
