To the Editor:

As Family Service & Community Mental Health Center closes its doors at the end of June, kudos to the McHenry County Board and the McHenry County Mental Health Board for their recent action that retains the clinicians who worked with the specialty courts through a contract with Family Service.

County residents should be proud of the action taken by these two boards. While other state legislative bodies and their leadership have failed to address the many health and safety issues, McHenry County realized the need and has stepped up to the plate.
