Potbelly Sandwich Shop to open in Crystal Point Mall
CRYSTAL LAKE – Potbelly Sandwich Works LLC is planning to open a new Potbelly Sandwich Shop at what has become the go-to place lately: Crystal Point Mall.
The Chicago chain is expected to open the 1,550-square-foot store before the start of school, said James Richter, assistant director of economic development for the city. Its application with the city also calls for the creation of 10 jobs. And like its immediate neighbors, Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Starbucks, it is taking advantage of city’s Retailer Job Creation and Investment Program. Each received $10,000.
The program stipulates that the qualifying retail sales tax revenue-generating businesses occupy vacant space or construct and occupy a new building. It also must hire new employees and/or buy furniture, fixtures, or equipment. Potbellys anticipates spending an estimated $220,000 on improvements.
