Police investigate fatal Carpentersville shootings

CARPENTERSVILLE – A 39-year-old Lake in the Hills man fatally shot a female acquaintance Friday night, then moments later shot himself in front of police officers.

The officers initially responded to a domestic disturbance report of a man holding a gun at 9:39 p.m. in the 100 block of Pueblo Road, Carpentersville. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 39-year-old woman shot twice, according to Carpentersville police.

While investigating, police received a call about 10 p.m. indicating the male suspect was at a friend’s home in the 1500 block of Amarillo Drive. Moments later, police found Anthony Rodriguez holding a gun in the front yard of the home, police said.
