Woman surprises police with confession to slaying

WAUKEGAN — Authorities say a Lake County woman who police were questioning about allegations her boyfriend fired a gun to impress her decided to give investigators something else: a confession to a grisly 2011 homicide.

The News-Sun in Waukegan (http://bit.ly/MKS6DW) reports that 22-year-old Nadia Palacios of Waukegan made the revelation to investigators last weekend that she tortured and helped kill a man she mistakenly believed sexually assaulted her.

The confession led to the arrests of the Palacios and three others in the slaying of 27-year-old David Campbell.
