9 lawyers vying for 6th Circuit judge
MONTICELLO, Ill. — The Illinois Supreme Court has formed a committee to pick a replacement for Judge John Shonkwiler of the Sixth Judicial Circuit.
Shonkwiler is retiring July 31, and nine attorneys are being considered to replace him.
The (Decatur) Herald & Review reports that the committee will interview each lawyer and make a recommendation to Illinois Supreme Court Justice Rita Garman. Garman and the rest of the justices will then decide.
