ELGIN – Provena Saint Joseph Hospital has announced that Kathy Hogan, RN BSN MA, was one of five regional finalists for a Nursing Excellence Award from Nurses.com. She was nominated by Julie Lichtenberg, director of Professional Practice & Service Excellence, in the category of “Clinical Nursing Inpatient.”

Hogan is a specialist in both wound and ostomy care, and infection control.

“Kathy is excellent at what she does with her expertise in wound care,” said Dr. Zarqa Imdad from the Infectious Diseases/Wound Care department at PSJH, “The patients she treats are difficult as they often have chronic wounds, ostomies and extremity swelling. Kathy improves patient outcomes by treating and teaching the patients that may have non-reversible wounds the maintenance needed so they can manage their wounds to live a happier life.”
