5 central Illinois events raise $826,000
NORMAL, Ill. — Five recent American Cancer Society Relay For Life events in central Illinois raised about $826,000.
The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports that more than half of the total from last weekend's fundraisers came from Relay For Life of McLean County.
Organizers of the event at the Normal Community West High School track say more than $501,000 was collected. That's less than the $572,000 brought in last year, but organizers say donations are still coming in.
