More Chicago students shot last school year
CHICAGO – Chicago police officials report the number of students shot in the city during the past school year is up almost 22 percent.
The Chicago Tribune reported that 319 students were shot – the highest number in four years.
But police said the number of students killed in gun violence during the year is down slightly with 24 students fatally shot, which is four fewer than in the 2010-2011 school year.
