Man missing, 3 hurt after Rend Lake boat wreck

BENTON, Ill. — Authorities in southern Illinois are continuing their search of Rend Lake for a man missing since two boats collided, injuring three other people.

Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says three people were on one boat and two were aboard the other when the vessels collided Tuesday.

Two of the victims were flown to hospitals in St. Louis. There's no word on their conditions Wednesday. Another person suffered lesser injuries.

It isn't yet clear how the crash happened or whether the victims were wearing life jackets.
