Jacobs students to film at library
ALGONQUIN – Six H.D. Jacobs High School students and graduates chose the Algonquin Area Public Library for an independent film project titled “Marie Antoinette Discovers Plaid.”
Kelly Morton wrote the screenplay and will direct fellow Drama Club board members Michael Banwart, Tom Barrett, Kaitlin Majeski, Rachel Kaplow and Lisa Gerlach.
The students, under the leadership of teacher William Glynn, will spend the summer filming the movie at the library and other sites, according to a news release from the Algonquin Area Public Library District. “Desk Set,” “The Music Man,” “The Breakfast Club,” “With Honors” and “National Treasure” are just a few of the famous movies with scenes set in libraries.
