July fundraisers to aid local officer with cancer
WOODSTOCK – A group of McHenry County Sheriff’s Office employees have set up a series of fundraisers to help with expenses for a corrections officer diagnosed with appendix cancer.
The goal is to raise $25,000 for Jess Fruehe, a single mother of two children from Woodstock who was diagnosed after her appendix burst, fellow Corrections Officer Daniel Hulina said.
Fruehe has been unable to return for several months and has had several invasive surgeries. Hulina said she is waiting to start chemotherapy.
