CRYSTAL LAKE – No need to run to the border. The Crystal Lake Taco Bell has reopened and is ready to serve you.

The Crystal Lake Fire Department responded to two calls the evening of June 13 in the 400 block of Virginia Street. After high winds downed electrical wires, authorities closed the road again when an electrical fire broke out at the Route 14 Taco Bell.

“I’m not an electrician, but when the power came back it was not connected properly with the transformer and we had a power surge,” business owner Neil Borkan said. “It ruined a lot of equipment.”
