MCC studies ways to pay for expansion
CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County College leaders are investigating a variety of ways to pay for a proposed campus expansion that could cost $640 million over the next four decades.
College board members and administrators are considering a capital campaign to raise funding through private donations, state and federal building grants and partnerships with local businesses to pay for facilities the college wants to build.
Several MCC board members said a property tax increase would be looked at only as a last resort.
