Body pulled from West Loon Lake near Antioch

ANTIOCH, Ill. — Divers pulled the body of a missing swimmer from West Loon Lake near Antioch, and authorities say that brings the number of drownings in Lake County to four this year.

Antioch Fire Department divers found the body of 63-year-old John Michalek of Berwyn on Monday. The (Waukegan) News-Sun reports that he'd been missing since he went swimming with his brother on June 28.

Over the weekend, 29-year-old Lukasz Barabasz of Chicago drowned after he jumped from a boat into Deep Lake in Lake Villa and tried to swim to shore. Divers pulled him from the water, but he later was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
