CL man sued over boat crash
WAUKEGAN – A Crystal Lake man is being sued for his actions in a May boating accident that seriously injured a Lake County woman.
Attorneys for Bartlett resident Dena Renzulli filed the personal injury lawsuit Tuesday in Lake County Court against Brian Yost, according to a news release from the law firm of Salvi, Schostok and Pritchard.
Yost, 36, of the 1800 block of Sherman Boulevard, was charged with operating under the influence May 26 after the Glastron Carlson boat he was driving collided with a pontoon boat in Myers Bay in Fox Lake, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The boat drove over the front bow of the pontoon boat, throwing Renzulli into the water, police said. Marine deputies later pulled her from the bay.
She suffered serious injuries to her ribs, leg, pelvis and face, and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.
Yost had several passengers on board, and six people were on the pontoon boat, authorities said. There were no other injuries.
