Power still out for 10,700 in northern Illinois

CHICAGO – About 10,700 Commonwealth Edison customers remain without power after Sunday's storms.

ComEd says most of the remaining outages should be fixed Wednesday with a few customers remaining without service until Thursday. The utility says the delay is because repair crews have to remove downed trees from the storms before they can fix the damaged ComEd equipment. The majority of the outages are in Chicago's western suburbs.

The outages remain as Illinoisans brave excessive heat advisories and triple-digit temperatures.
