Quinn signs 3 veteran's law on 4th of July

DES PLAINES – Gov. Pat Quinn spent the morning of the Fourth of July signing three new laws that affect service members.

Quinn signed the measures Wednesday morning at the Des Plaines Fourth of July parade. He says it's a fitting day to sign legislation that "will make sure our heroes receive the services they need."

Under one new law, veterans will receive a distinction on their driver's licenses and identification cards so they are easily identified by state agencies. The change must start by Jan. 1, 2015.
