Power back for ComEd customers hit by July 1 storm
CHICAGO — The power is back on for all of the Commonwealth Edison customers left in the dark when storms raked northern Illinois on Sunday.
In a release Friday, the utility says more than 2,000 ComEd employees and repair crews from outside the area worked around the clock to get things back to normal.
More than 300,000 ComEd customers were left without power after the storms swept through northern Illinois, downing trees and utility poles and bringing down miles of power lines.
