Oliver: Lessons of 1995 heat wave worth heeding

Who knew that temperatures in the mid-80s could feel so good?

But after last week’s record-breaking heat, it’s just the kind of reprieve a lot of us needed.

The blast-furnace temperatures reminded me a lot of that horrible July heat wave in 1995, the one in which more than 700 people died in Chicago.
