Police: Shots fired at Woodstock apartment complex

WOODSTOCK - Shots were fired into an unoccupied vehicle parked at a Woodstock apartment complex Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of North Seminary Avenue at around 6 a.m. for a report of a shots fired in a parking lot, according to a news release. Several bullet casings were later located in the area along with a vehicle with bullet holes in it.

The weapon used appears to be semi-automatic based on the shell casings found, Woodstock Police Sgt. Chip Amati said. No one was injured.

Responding officers later stopped several vehicles in the immediate area, but were unable to locate anyone involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
