ALGONQUIN – The mother of an Algonquin girl will face charges in connection with abandoning her inside a bar in Caryville, Tenn., after police spent 10 days trying to identify the special needs child.
In a news release, the Caryville police identified the girl on Sunday as Lynn Cameron, after her mom, Eva Cameron, allegedly left her at the Big Orange Bar in the small town, north of Knoxville, on June 28. A Tennesee NBC affiliate has reported that the girl is 19.
Lynn Cameron has special needs, and the police could not communicate with her about what happened to her or about who she was. They identified the girl after they received a tip from an unidentified person.
The Caryville police received calls about the girl from across the region, including Illinois, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan and South Dakota.
The police did not say when Eva Cameron will be charged in connection with the incident. Officials in Caryville were not immediately available for comment.
