To the Editor:

St. Mary’s annual rummage sale just completed its 49th year. We would like to thank special business owners who have helped make it the success that it was.

Ed’s Rental for use of its sign to advertise and bring in customers. Mark Justen for letting us borrow his fans, which were wonderful for workers and patrons. Ace Hardware for letting us use carts to bring items to our 13 rooms. Boy Scout Troop No. 149 under Tim Jones and Leslie Guy, who were essential in our setup. Also who came to our rescue for setup were the Men’s Foresters under Greg Harrison. Rich Adams was invaluable with his forklift. The McHenry Warriors who also helped to make setup go quickly; Ted Stilling of Chas Herdrich & Sons Inc., whose generous donation of water in honor and memory of his Aunt Vera Herdrich, who for many years was the head chairperson of the rummage sale. Don Reinboldt was kind enough to deliver it to us. And finally, Jacki Buckley, who came at the end of the sale to pack up everything we did not sell, so that other charities still may benefit.
