Drug deal gets seller 3 years
WOODSTOCK – An East Dundee man was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison for dealing cocaine to an undercover deputy.
Terry L. Steagall, 21, pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. As part of the negotiated plea accepted by McHenry County Judge Joseph Condon, Steagall must complete two years of parole following his release.
Assistant State’s Attorney Carlene Kay said that on Nov. 9, Steagall met an undercover McHenry County sheriff’s deputy at a McDonald’s in Crystal Lake, took money and gave the officer a small bag with cocaine inside.
